Wedding Reception Ideas: Never Enough?

In the search for unique wedding reception ideas, it seems you are always looking for just one more, hoping it will be the “right one”, which will help you bring it all together. Finding ideas that are creative, yet executable and practical, can be a challenge.

Finding ideas for your wedding reception is easy, but finding ideas that will suit the venue, the budget, and your personal preferences, while being simple to implement, can be a mission.

If you want some wedding reception ideas for a different venue setting, here are some options:

Hold your wedding ceremony, and the reception, on a beach. You will have to take a few practical things into consideration, but it has been done successfully. Imagine taking a walk after dinner, walking off into the moonlit night, alone with the sound of the waves….

Find a scenic setting in the woods. It will have to be by arrangement, on private land, to prevent disturbance, and even if you do not wish to erect a tent (a costly option), you may still want to erect a cover. Similarly to a beach wedding, the logistics must be carefully planned.

Talk to the owner of a quiet, romantic restaurant. if you are getting married at a time of year when business is slow, you should be able to have the venue closed to the public for the evening, as long as it is worth the owner’s while to do so. You will have no worries about catering, waiters, or bar facilities, and you do not have to clean anything up afterwards.

When considering a venue, ask yourself the following questions:

Is it adaptable to the theme you want to create?

Does it present any challenges (like food delivery on the beach), and how will you handle it?

Does it fit into the budget, or better still, does it save you money you can spend in another area? For a beach wedding, for instance, you have no cost for the venue, and you do not need separate decorations for the church and reception hall.

Different wedding reception ideas all have their benefits and drawbacks. Depending on what you would like to do, you will simply have to be creative and work around the challenges. By the time everything comes together on your wedding day, you will find it was well worth the effort.
